Who should foot the bill for demolishing arches in the Penang Botonical Gardens?

Seem environmentalists are relieved after ugly arches in the Botanical Gardens are going to be removed. Let wait a minute, who should foot the RM 150,000 bill and be held accountable for this blunder?

The contractor failed to erect no leaning arches, they should be penalized and paid for all expenses for not meeting obligations in the contract. Our honorable Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen, please stop using public poll as a camouflage for no taking action against the contractor.

My humble suggestion is Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng and Tourism Minister, Ng Yen Yen both voluntarily cut RM10 from their salaries under the CAT and 1Malaysia principle.

Penang Botanical Gardens are under the jurisdiction of state government. LGE cannot simply wash out his hands after allowing such ugly projects under his nose.

He said Penang state government was under intense pressure by a BN little Napoleon to accept the project blindly, or else Federal Government will cancel it.

His accusation may be true, but he should insist proper public consultation sessions before he gave green light.
