Corruption & Cronyism >>>

Who is more shameful? UMNO Shahrizat or PKR Zuraida?

The Auditor-General’s Report squarely pointed out alleged fraudulence is from a company operating by his husband and sons. That is nothing to do with MP Zuraida or my dog.

Chinese used to say this kind of cronyism is like sharing pork among the politicians.

Shahrizat: Opposition out to destroy me and Wanita Umno

KUALA LUMPUR: Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said attacks against her over the RM74mil National Feedlot Centre (NFC) issue are a clear political agenda to destroy her and Wanita Umno.

“I see it as an attempt by the Opposition to weaken our spirit as well as that of Wanita Umno.

“We are not that easy to be destroyed nor are we that soft,” she told reporters after officiating Rajaah: Art, Idea and Creativity of Sulaiman Esa at the National Visual Arts Gallery.

Shahrizat said her family members did not deserve such flak from the Opposition, adding that they worked very hard.

“I am ashamed that there is a Malaysian woman like the Wanita PKR chief,” she said, referring to Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin who claimed that the NFC had failed despite being given a soft loan of RM250mil and a 5,000-acre plot of land.

The Auditor-General’s Report released last month had criticised the NFC, pointing out that it was now in a mess.

The report said production in 2010 was only 3,289 head of cattle or 41.1% of the target set.

PKR has alleged that funds meant for the NFC were siphoned off to associated companies owned by Shahrizat’s family.

Shahrizat said Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar had given a clear and detailed answer that the project was a success.

Meanwhile, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the RM81.2mil given by NFC to its associate company National Livestock & Meat Corporation Sdn Bhd (NLMC) was justified.

He said the feedlot project served many objectives and was not just to produce raw meat.

The project’s other aims were to develop infrastructure for livestock rearing and to boost the industry by adapting new technology as well as conduct research and development.

“NLMC was in charge of building a demand chain and market for feedlot products. At the same time, it also plays a role in developing the logistics and delivery system for NFC as a high quality beef producer,” he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby.

The NFC project, located in Gemas, is aimed at reducing beef imports and making the country a centre for beef production.

Shah Razat says:

Sharizat is a woman with cow sense talking bullshit just like the NFC scandal involving her family. All the UMNO Wanita delegates are just as corrupt to support a leader with this kind of scandal attached to her. Herd mentality. Sharizat is leading you all like cattle.

I suppose Shahrizat is well protected as long as BN is in power. But wait till GE 13, and we will see if you are still smiling when the law comes after you. You sure look like a hero, condemning the opposition in UMNO. The issue with NFC is not UMNO’s but it is the public’s, so you should be explaining your position to all of us so that we have the opportunity to ask question.

Howard says:

There are thousands of us who are in our twilight years now belonging to a generation that walked or at best cycled to school. We went to English schools not by choice but was logical then to the minds our fathers as we were British administered.

Many of us became salaried employees mostly in the government or uniformed services. We dutifully paid our taxes and put our children to school so that they could be better than us.

The country was transformed and life seems to be great. It seems to be but no it is not.

Over the years UMNO created a culture where the road to wealth is through politics. Not clean politics but deceitful and exploitative politics.

To those Malays who are awed by UMNO, can they not see where these goons are turning the Malay race into. Can they not see that rules and good order and discipline no longer governs our life under UMNO’s rule. Can they not see what kind of devils these UMNO goons have become when a case like NFC Is a best practice and not wrong in law and moral. Can they not see UMNO is playing dirty through manipulation of the mass media where news are never the truth but spins to exploit their minds.

Can they not see that it is high times they give themselves a chance to know the the truth by widening their reads to alternative news.

Can they not see. Why or why can they not see!

Sandy says:

Umno is despertely trying to put a lid to close this Cowgate matter as the AGM is approaching. Can expect more sensational expose during Umno AGM in Dec on this matter as delegates are tussling to position their candidates. Shahrizat’s position in Wanita is goyang?

Manja says:

There is no check and balance in Malaysia. Main stream newspapers supposedly the conscience of the Rakyat did not even highlight this abuse. The MACC has no jurisdiction but for 2,000 ringgit TBH died at their office. The Police shoots tear gas at peaceful rakyat seeking good governance but turn a blind eye on corruption. Yet the STUPIDS support UMNO.

Sufiah says:

Larry says:

This is not a RM2000 issue, but a RM250 million scandal.
So it is outside the scope of MACC to investigate.

Another shameful thing is the Kedai 1Mydin selling contaminated 1Malaysia branded food and underweight sardine/kari ayam and overpriced stuff.

GT says:

Why do we need these KR1M shops that costs taxpayers RM40 million (setting-up costs) when the goods sold are already found in hypermarkets at comparable price with better quality?

This is like having rakyat paying for the ‘free’ 1Malaysia email when we can already get yahoo or gmail for free.

Karim says:

I guess KR1M and Klinik 1Malaysia should operate as a one-stop offering. When you consume the sub-standard & contaminated food of KR1M (eg. high heavy metal content in chili sauce), you can get the anti-dote from Klinik 1malaysia.

Manja says:

Whether Sharizat will be condemned or not depends on the bigwigs and warlords in UMNO. Even Najib will have to wait and hear from the warlords before he makes any announcement, and if the warlords do not want any action taken against Sharizat, then she will just get away scot free. This is how things work in UMNO/BN. Ministers can even get away with murder if the warlords say so.

Lokman says:

No need for Shahrizat to offer excuses as we can clearly see that it is a failed venture (cannot meet KPI) because of poor management because there is no accountability to begin with. She failed in the last election and her family is rewarded with such mega contract?

With such incident, how many of us can really believe in the self-proclaimed success of the Transformasi and NKR of Najib?
Failure can be disguised as success, thanks to APCO and FBC.

GT says:

We should read this to understand te issue better beyond the rhetoric questions posed by nkkhoo:

Karim says:

As usual, there is total inaction, indifference and disinterest on the part on the MACC with regard to the RM250 million NFC scandal, despite the shocking revelations of a clear misappropriation of public funds in the case of RM10 million from the funds to promote cattle production to purchase a condominium for private benefit and the RM800,000 to pay for the expensive overseas trip of the Minister and her family members on company funds.

It is time that her husband Mohamad Salleh Ismail, her children Wan Shahimur Izran, Wan Shahimur Izmir and Wan Izzana Fatimah, break their silence.

Abu Pin says:

There are more than 300 feedlot farms in this country, and many established businesses in the beef supply industry. With our people’s accumulation of expertise in this area, shouldn’t we have entrusted the important mission of boosting domestic beef production to entrepreneurs who are better qualified than the Shahrizat family?

Manja says:

The quota MACC chief & every corrupt institution of Umno publicly vilified & accused Selangor MB Khalid, in a press release & headlines by all electronic & print MSN, of “corruption” giving out only 46 cows to the poor Malays during a festive event. Now thousands of cows, $millions & $billions of the rakyat’s money blatantly stolen & given out to Umno ministers & cronies with impunity and no news fron the MSM demanding for justice. The poor & suffering Kampong folks enslaved by Umno’s 54 years of racism, threats, manipulation, lies & cheat must never know of this haram acts by Umno against the rakyat & the nation. It is a pity & real sad the poor Malays & innocent kampong folks are the real victims of Umno’s crimes, unconsciously & perpetually feeding this most haram acts & culture of corruption in Umno. Only a new & incorrupt govt would be able to save the poor Malays & lift them up into the mainstream of development for their own survival & overall progress in a globalized world.
