Corruption & Cronyism >>>

A poser to LGE, RFP is open tender?

I do not understand request for proposal is equal to open tender. But I do understand PR is equal to BN when it comes to corruption and cronyism.

In a nutshell, asking a few parties for request for quotation is still a cronysim.

Bus stands to feature modern and eco-friendly facilities

By HAN KAR KAY

Looks inviting: The new bus shelter at Jalan Sungai Dua in Penang.

IMAGINE bus shelters with closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs), solar-powered lights, recycle bins and even blind guides and wheel-chair accessible spaces?

Such user-friendly and safety components will eventually feature in a total of 150 upgraded bus stands on Penang island for public transport users.

So far, three of the innovative bus shelters are completed on Jalan Sungai Dua, Jalan Mayang Pasir and Jalan Tengah in Bayan Baru.

Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) Infrastructure and Transport Committee alternate chairman Ramlah Bee Asiahoo said the new bus stands would incorporate sheltered seating area, solar-powered lighting system at night to conserve energy, notice board with bus schedules and route map, recycle bins and location signage boards.

“The others will include blind guide, wheel-chair accessible route for the disabled and parking spaces for bicycles,” she told a press conference yesterday.

Ramlah said they had also decided to install closed-circuit televisions at selected bus shelters for safety reasons.

She said the upgrading work, which began in October, was expected to be completed by June next year.

“It is meant to encourage the people to use public transport while providing an easier and safer environment for the users.

“The project is fully sponsored by Viewplex Sdn Bhd after the council granted them the project through Request For Proposal (RFP),” she said.

Viewplex corporate affairs division manager Angelyna Radhi said the project would cost about RM5mil while the construction of each bus stand was between RM30,000 and RM35,000.

Viewplex is a registered contactor with bumiputra status specialising in civil works (Class B) and electrical works (Class II) and building maintenance services.

Uneven wealth distribution as seen in genie coefficient (economic term) still not being understood by most Msians.
in very near future, we shall see demo like Arab Spring becoz the rakyat’s livelihoods (regardless of race) are threatened. The rich ones (now not just chinese but mostly umnoputra & cronies) will be targeted. Looting, raping, killing may happen !

WTP says:

i think you have the never say die character like DAP perak Ngah.
Why don’t you be active like Ngah probably you can wake up Johor Chinese when you put your national scandal list in front of them !!!!

nkkhoo says:

Actually Ngah did invite me to meet him in Ipoh before 308 after I complained to LKS that Perak DAP website is suck, not better than parliament website.

Joining any political party is not my option, you can’t criticize LKS or LGE freely if you are a DAP member.

I have voiced out several major national issues through the Star like uneven wealth distribution, middle-income trap, lack of root cause mentality, etc.

These issues have been picked up by several ministers and top leadership. DPM, Muhyiddin recently consented that uneven wealth distribution is a major issue in his speech in Australia.

Why should I join a political party if I have a platform to convey my ideas and messages to BN and PR policy makers?

I can say anything without fear or favor with my neutral political background.

Bus stops look good.
I hope Taiping will have those designs, but unlikely because they prefer metallic black structure.
I shall vote for the return of Pakatan so that we can hve such bus stops.

nkkhoo says:

I rate Perak PR is the best PR government for their non-nonsense policies. They delivered promises quick unlike other suck PR governments.

Do “fully sponsored” has the same meaning as donated, or there’s more to the story?

nkkhoo says:

Do you believe a bumi company donated RM 5 million for nothing?

niceguy says:

Where is the transparency if a donation can’t be called a donation?

New year wish: Reporters don’t just record and report; they should also ask probing questions…

nkkhoo says:

MalaysiaKini Chinese editor started to condemn PR is corrupt and evil as BN.

Dr. Dre says:

How can it be?
The chicken farmers in Segamat are facing shut-down just because their chicken excrement is not supplied to BN-assigned contractors?
CSL’s son is helpless here.

nkkhoo says:

BN nett contribution to Johor is still positive.

Do you know Chinese temples in Johor can get funds from the BN government?
