Penang state government is looking to be sued for selling a land twice

Karpal Singh, “The state government can still sell the land, but it can be sued by first buyer.”

Does above statement is different with this statement, “You can go to rob anyone, but can be jailed for your own action.”?

This is very irresponsible for any government to ask for a clear case ligation and the rakyat have to pay for compensation if Penang state government is losing the case in court.

Basically Lim Guan Eng is a liar by telling the public that the land is not yet sold to KLIDC. Lim Guan Eng is following the rule by law, not the rule of law.

It’s only less than 5 year in power has made Lim Guan Eng an arrogant and barbaric leader by ignoring the rule of law.

He should join BN, not PR with his bloody above the law attitude.

Let refresh the Kampung Buah Palah land sale scandal, LGE had refused to cancel the land sale agreement although the land title was not yet issued to buyer when he was a new Chief Minister by saying the state government was binding by the land sale agreement.

Why he is suddenly changed his mind that Taman Manggis land sale agreement with KLIDC is null and void because the land title is not yet issued to buyer?

Any lawyer can help me to understand which one is right?

Penang govt can sell land at Taman Manggis: Karpal

GEORGE TOWN, Nov 10 (Bernama) — The Penang government can sell the land at Taman Manggis, Jalan Zainal Abidin, to the state Barisan Nasional (BN) on the condition that the title for the land has not been transferred to any party.

It is also on the condition that Kuala Lumpur International Dental Centre (KLIDC), the company which won the bid for the land, does not object to it, DAP chairman Karpal Singh said today.

However, he said, KLIDC could take legal action against the state government as the company had already made the full payment for the property.

“It is up to the company to take any action. KLIDC has the right to file a case against the state government because there is already an agreement,” he told reporters here today.

Karpal Singh said this when asked on the state government’s action in offering the land for sale, despite the property already being sold to a private sector.

The state government is taking a risk by selling the 0.45 hectare site to BN because the land has been sold to KLIDC, he added.

Last Oct 3, the BN Youth made payment of RM224,073, which is one per cent of the total price of the land (RM22 million), in earnest money for the land offered by the state government.

The land at Taman Manggis was initially planned for phase two of the People’s Housing project, but the state government had sold it to a developer for the construction of a 19-storey hotel, six-storey hospital and a five-storey car park.
