RM 500 smartphone from China

Below RM500 smartphones are either subsidized by telcos or low end models from China. The selected dealers are typical UMNO cronies.

Are these youths vote for BN after getting RM200 discount? If yes, then they are brain-dead Google generation.

MCMC: Youth registration for smartphone rebate from Tuesday

December 27, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 27 — Youths between the ages of 21 and 30 can start applying for the RM200 rebate to purchase selected 3G smart phones from registered Celco dealers from next Tuesday.

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi said the application under the Youth Communication Package could be made via online registration at http://nbi.skmm.gov.my/.

The scheme is on a first-come-first-served basis and will be for the first 1.5 million eligible youths who may claim their smartphone while stocks last, he said in a statement today.

Mohamed Sharil said youths who qualify for the RM200 rebate would be able to purchase selected 3G smartphones costing up to RM500 from selected dealers and agents appointed by the providers

“The idea is to spread the incentive across lower-income group youths who do not yet use smartphones and cannot afford to upgrade from their old 2G phones to a basic 3G smartphone.

“Those who can afford phones priced RM500 and above are really not in the intended category or target market,” he said.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced a one-off rebate of RM200 for 3G smartphone purchases for 1.5 eligible youths through Youth Communication Package when tabling the 2013 Budget last September in efforts to give youths access to the information highway.

With the rebate, they were expected to pay no more than RM300 to own a new 3G smartphone, he said while refuting claims that the RM500 price limit was low as there were over 20 models of branded phones which are 3G enabled.

“The participating celcos and mobile virtual network operators will offer no less than five and perhaps up to 10 or 12 models under the initiative via their dealership outlets.

“Therefore youths should look out for the ‘Pakej Komunikasi Belia’ logo that will be displayed on banners and buntings at these outlets or they can also check websites of the service providers for the list of smartphones and participating dealership outlets,” he said.

He said based on studies conducted by MCMC, over 90 per cent of users were in the prepaid segment but Celcos only provided mobile phone incentives for postpaid contracts.

Meanwhile Mohamed Sharil said owners of small businesses between the ages of 18 and 65 would be able to start applying for the Get Malaysian Business Online RM1,000 grant starting next Tuesday (Jan 1) by also registering online at http://nbi.skmm.gov.my/.

He said small business entrepreneurs who had registered websites and fulfilled all the terms and conditions would receive a RM1,000 grant from MCMC which would be credited directly into the successful applicants’ local bank account. — Bernama

A business friend of mine lost his right ear hearing after over used handphone. His handphone incoming calls are almost non-stop for whole day.

Najib targets the young because many of the older generation know how they will vote. Najib hopes that by bribing the young with the N1SP (Najib’s 1SmartPhone), he can influence them to persuade any fence-sitters in their families to vote for BN.

Why give rebate to smartphone but no rebate for internet subscription?

nkkhoo says:

My brother in red dot paid S200+ to get a Samsung smartphone S3 for 2-year package.

I liked the phone, the CPU speed is fast and intuitive to use.

Kuanqiao says:

What is the sentiments of people working in Spore like your brother on the coming GE?
You should tap on your brother’s network in the red dot to provide first hand reporting, besides the fact that the red dot people are not happy with PAP’s plan for 7 million population with foreign import.

nkkhoo says:

The brother in SG hated BN as me. His son and daughter born in red dot already Singapore citizens.

My 5 family members score is 3 to PR, 2 to BN. My old mum is a hardcore MCA supporter and another brother will follow local secret society to vote BN.

I will vote PR for parliament seat and void my state vote as a protest to PR no-show in my constituency

Kuanqiao says:

Do you consider your red dot brother a talent loss or a dissident escaped?
I have many friends who took up red dot citizenship, but beginning to regret over high cost of living and high level of congestion with the influx of china people as PRs and citizens due to low birth rate of red dot nationals. Red dot is a place to earn goid salary, but not a good place to retire. Therefore many red dot developers are eyeing Iskandar cheap land (by spore standard) to build retirement resort for the greying population of red dot people. This in turn will bring more chinese to Johor and indirectly relocating local malays away from JB area, creating new demographic issue and challenges for Umno.

He is a skilled worker under Singapore standard. He got brain, but my late father did not support him to study.

My late father is unlike other parents, he wanted all his sons and daughters as stupid as him. All my siblings never respected him for life, we only recognized him as a father by blood.

fong says:

Asked your brother to start checking out Iskandar properties. With his CPF money he can retire away from congested Red Dot now populated with more Red armies you so despise.
I think Johor can be a nicely developed state with “re-migrated Msian brains” across the border once the today reported PKR-DAP squabble if ever exist can be resolved fast.
As msia is a good place to do business luring Red Dot money, you can start collaborate with your brothers. Changes without fear of schemed “chaos” is the future for us all.

The Mainland Chinese people and China communist regime are two different things. I dislike the tyrant does not mean I like Perkasa hates Chinese.

Even PR takes over government, it will take another 10 to 20 years to clean up all dirts in the country.

Venki says:

Najib thought he could win votes from young votes who thought they could save RM200 from the purchase of Samsung SIII or iPhone 5.

But a RM500 smartphone? How can it appeal to youngsters of today is something that old dinosaur like Rais could not understand.

Anyway, young people now buy smartphone on ‘ansuran’ i.e. only need to pay RM50 a month. So this BN smartphone scheme is not appealing at all, except benefiting those Umno crony dealers to woon the kampung folks.
