After Islam was made official religion in 80s by Mahathir, some Muslims made claims for these ....

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Our northern neighbor Thailand with 90% Buddhists has never made Buddhism as its official religion.

Tunku was smart for not making Islam as the official religion in the Malaysia original constitution because I believe he knew Islam will be played up by some politicians and Malay fanatics for their political gains.

The Article 3 as stating “Islam is the religion of the Federation; but other religions may be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the Federation”.

No such official wording in the constitution related to Islam status as the official religion as claimed by many.

Muslims cannot convert to other religion only be made as a law in 80s by Mahathir. Tunku is liberal on religious belief and never stop local Muslims to embrace any religion they wanted.

Some fascist Muslims like Ibrahim Ali have blatantly to call Muslims to burn Malay language Bible with Allah words inside is the consequences of making Islam as the official religion in Malaysia.

Some royal family members are also dancing with Ibrahim Ali to claim Allah is exclusively for Islam.

Why no such religious fanaticism before Mahathir took over premiership in 1981?

Because Mahathir is the mother of Malay racism although everyone knows his ancestor is not Malay.

The Lahad Datu incident has taught the malays that Muslim can be terrorists!

A real awakening for them!

Tun M views himself as a champion of Islam. He declared Malaysia as an Islamic state and started his mass recruitment of poor unskilled Muslims into the country to fulfill 2 key strategies: 1) Control the Political Power by sheer numbers … he doubled Muslim population ratio from 33% from 1957 to late 1990s
2) Why Poor unskilled Muslims that is because they are indebted to him and is obliged to vote for his party and to keep NEP objectives from ever being reach … a moving goal post.

Ngayub says:

This ex-PM has all the trademark of an evil, blaming everyone else for his misdeeds. He even blamed the dead Tunku Abdul Rahman to save his skin. Now he blames Anwar. He cursed Tun Abdullah Badawi and removed Tun Musa Hitam & Ghafar Baba. Now he has started cursing Najib for being weak and switch his support to Muhyideen. All to save his skin and billionaires sons Mokhzani, Mirzan and Mukhriz.

Maniam says:

Tun M thinks that all malaysians are fools who canot read in between lines. Though old, his cunningness is still sharp. He wrote ‘Malay Dilemma’ not to help the poor innocent malays but to become their leader which he achieved and plundered the country and sold bumiputra rights to foreigners. Now he joined an ultra racist group Perkasa and became their adviser to teach them how to practice racism. A typical criminal with no integrity.

Why should Dr Mahathir speak for the Umno leadership? It only goes to prove that the Umno leadership is wimpy and lacks conviction to effectively reprimand people like Ibrahim Ali, even when what they say or do is clearly against the laws of the country.

raj says:

Umno-made laws are different from Quran principles.
Using Islam as an immunity against wrong practices is a sin.
Sadly BTN ideology has legalised such practices.
Only one race in this world is compelled by human laws to adopt one religion in order to define itself. Yet the people are being made insecured, disabled and dependent on tongkat so that the elite few can command the political power.
It is time to go back to the basics, back to the way of life during Tunku days for the race to wake up and not being manipulated – this can happen if the people are brave enough to change their thinking (abandon BTN thinking) to transform from within, instead of being fooled by acronyms like GTP and KPI.

Brother raj

Wow! I wonder if malays can speak openly like you to be able to ‘change from within’.

Anyway, it has awakened me to do some reflection.
