Why Lim Guan Eng cannot be a Penang Chief Minister?

I list down ten reasons why LGE should be rejected from the state level judging from his poor performance for last five years in Penang as the chief minister. All these issues are detailed in my blog, you just have to search them.

1. Broken promises made in GE12.

– Local council election not done with the excuse the federal law not permitted.

– Free toll for Penang bridge. Same excuse with above.

– Kampung Buah Pala was demolished although PR promised the village would never tear down under PR government before the GE12.

Lim  Guan Eng has the power to cancel the sale with his own argument on Taman Manggis land that the grant is not yet issued. Link >>>

2. RM50 million free money for the contractor of PISA’s SPICE project. Link >>>

3. The density of housing in the island is increased 2.9 times against the MPPP’s guideline and NO low cost public housing projects under PR.

4. Kancil car park blunder. Link >>>

5. Undersea tunnel project was signed harshly with many discrepancies in EIA and costing. Link >>>

6. Penang FDI is dropped tremendously in his 4th and 5th years tenure. Link >>>

7. The surplus of Penang budget is mainly due to accounting manipulation and selling state land and assets.

RM600 million is written off from the current account due to transfer of water resources assets to Federal government. But Penang state still have to pay RM600 million debts to Federal government over 30 years period which is not informed and conveyed to Penangites under the CAT principle.

8. No economy and transport master plans for Penang in next 5 to 20 years. [Other states also in the same pathetic stage]

9. Fake open tender system. True open tender is all tender documents are available for public to access and view them online, not limiting to two hours per session at the Komtar office and no photocopy allowed.

10. CAT is a mouse now because no accountability and transparency except tongue-twisting and blame games from Lim Guan Eng for many dubious projects.

No doubt, Lim has also doing some good policies like no plastic bags, annual budget for independent schools, Georgetown flooding mitigation, free speech corner, assets declaration for Excos, free money to needy groups, free WIFI, cycling project, etc.

From the macro economy perspective, there are more dirts than goodies under the PR government led by Lim Guan Eng.

If you do not understand English, the articles collection from the reporters in the Chinese mainstream newspapers will give you insight views on the true color of Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng.

These articles are not 100% no bias against LGE, but the critics given have their own merits and logics unlike cursing as you seen in the Malaysiakini’s comments.
