The bombing incident is more nearing to Malaysia

danok bombing

I had escaped similar motorbike bombing attack in Southern Thailand about ten years ago. The bomb exploded after 10-15 minutes I left the scene and luckily no one got hurt because I believed the bomb was a warning to the hotel owner for not paying protection fees to local mafia.

The safe place in Danok is where many Malay hawkers are stationed. The Islamist terrorists usually will spare the place.

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22, 2013): Two Malaysians were among the 20-plus victims reportedly injured in a bomb blast in Danok, south Thailand, today.

Thai authorities had earlier said that a series of blasts had rocked Danok, Sadao and near Padang Besar.

Meanwhile, police have advised Malaysians planning to head to south Thailand to be cautious of their safety following the sporadic bombings in the border towns.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin said today that police have taken additional precautionary and safety measures at the affected border areas.

He said checks on those using the entry points have also been intensified.

“We are keeping tabs on the development of bombing cases at Padang Besar, Danok and Sadao. The situation is currently under control and though the public need not be unduly worried, we advise them to be more watchful of their safety if they intend to visit these areas,” Mohd Bakri said in a statement.

He added that police are still checking on the identity of the two Malaysians said to be among those reportedly injured in the blasts.
