Why I show you this Chinese book about [论语] or the teachings of Confucius? The Chinese book is about the teachings of Confucius with explanations in modern Chinese language.
I bought this book yesterday is to recover my lost ego after being ashamed by Korean people.
As a Chinese with Chinese education background, I was ashamed by Korean people for their devotion on Confucianism when I visited my sister plant in Korea in early 90s. I expected only technical books are available in their in-house library, but I was shocked to find out that they have a huge collection of Chinese books on Confucianism.
My Korean colleague told me the books are not for display purpose, they are loaned out to the company’s staff including operator.
I asked myself in my heart when we Chinese appreciated our own Confucianism? The Mainland Chinese rejected and insulted the teachings of Confucius during the Cultural Revolution in 60s and 70s.
Admittedly, I have never studied the teachings of Confucius and Confucianism in depth except reading a few stories about Confucius in the primary school’s textbook. Not sure Confucianism is still taught in the Chinese school nowadays.
Will spend some times to read through every single page of this book to learn Confucianism from its source, not through English translation.
As a thinking individual, we should not accept every teaching from Confucius as a truth because of time changes.
If you want to understand how Chinese think and behave, you should study Confucianism.

Don’t miss this rare procession which was held in certain year only under the instruction of the Divine. The last three Wangkang festivals took place in 1919, 1933 and 2001, and there are no records on when the first was held in the country. No one knows when is the next procession because the procession is decided by the Divine in the heaven.
The event is aimed at ridding evil spirits in the state and country.
The wooden boat will be burned after the processing to signify farewell to the divines. The temple owner permitted me to shot some photos for the wooden boat.
BN government Tourism Ministry gave RM10,000 and the state government provided RM15,000 towards the cost of building the boat.
Read about Wangkang procession history and taboos >>>
The temple is located at Jalan Parameswara, before the Shell petrol station and procession is held on 6 February, 2012.

During this CNY celebration in Muar, I managed to capture two icons signifying the Chinese culture. BN outdone PR in promoting Chinese culture after it realizes only actions speak louder than talking.
Lim Guan Eng just inherited Chinese CNY annual celebration in Penang from Gerakan and did no effort to add new attractions. I had boycotted Penang CNY celebration because of its very poor crowd control.
Melaka government should run a Chinese and Baba new year tradition exhibition in the world heritage park instead of showing off a gorilla statue. [Some people say it's Gan Bon Long's statue]. Melaka world heritage park is an eyesore and dull tourist product.

1. Muar lion king statue
I may not be satisfy with the location and the design of lion dance statue in Muar, but I have to admit BN is doing better job than PR in this matter.

2. Melaka Jonker Street’s flying dragon statue
This giant dragon statue is quite impressive and attracting a lot of eye balls of local and foreign tourists. I made a re-tour to Melaka solely for this purpose, taking some photos for this dragon statue.

Most people will say I am a bullshitter or attention seeker nut if I say Malaysian Chinese are actually Malay descendants. Both Malay and Chinese supremacy extremists will condemn me to hell.
The DNA tests on Chinese population in the China mainland by a group of Chinese scientists revealed the DNA variations for Chinese in the North and South of Yangzi River are too big to be classified as one race.
The Chinese in the north are Mongolian type like Korean and Japanese while Chinese in the south are Malay type like Thai, Vietnam, Cambodian and Filipino
This research finding is not widely circulated and published because Chinese government wanted them to remain as a single Han race. Feel free to email me to request for a Chinese language CCTV documentary video about this finding.
I can guess with fairly accurate a Mainland Chinese is from the North or South China from their face features.
Since the majority of Malaysia Chinese is from Fujian and Guangdong in the south, they are mostly Malay type Chinese unless their ancestors are migrants from the north.
My ancestors were from the Middle Plain at the north of Yangzi River, my face feature is inclined to Northern Han, but my skin color is more darker than the Northern Han.
This finding may explain some Malaysian Chinese look like Malays even their parents are pure Chinese. In one occasion, a Malay woman approached my Chinese friend and confidently said his daughter is a Malay girl from her appearance.
There is no doubt Malaysian Chinese is culturally different with Malay, but actually their bloodline is closer to Malay than Mahathir mamak.
Of course, my hypothesis is still need hard evidence from DNA tests.
UMNO goons will never conduct this kind of DNA comparison for local Malay and Chinese because my hypothesis is mostly proven correct at the end. True 1Malaysia is not the real agenda of UMNO.
Heritage activists are concerned that MPPP is using concrete covers for the drains in Jalan Sungai Ujong, which forms part of George Town’s heritage enclave. Pic by Asman Ibrahim.
Melaka river used more concrete, and an idiotic reporter from NST complimented the concrete structure is inspiring his thought.
I see both NGO and MPPP are damn arrogant and expecting other party to approach them first. This is the typical “I am the boss” mindset.
Penang PR government under LGE seems cannot work along with Penang NGOs like PHT.

Heritage conservation groups want government to consult the experts and the people before starting projects in the city

GEORGE TOWN: HERITAGE conservation groups here are urging the state government to talk to them before embarking on any kind of work in the city’s heritage areas.
Penang Heritage Trust (PHT) council member Rebecca Duckett-Wilkinson said this was to prevent damage to George Town and subsequent jeopardy of its status as a Unesco World Heritage Site.
“We are not against any work… however, we are of the opinion that it should not be done at the expense of the prestigious listing.
“It will be good for the state authorities to get public feedback before it proceeds with any work so as to ensure it does not have to do rectification work.”
The Penang Island Municipal Council’s (MPPP) ongoing work to mitigate floods in the city centre has met with protests from NGOs.
MPPP is upgrading and widening drains in Lebuh Cintra, Lebuh Kimberly, Jalan Lim Chwee Leong, Jalan Kuala Kangsar and Jalan Sundai Ujang.
Duckett-Wilkinson said the NGOs were not objecting for the sake of objecting, but because they felt that the work should be carried out in a proper manner.
She said the work was being carried out without taking into consideration the structural make-up of the building around the project site.
She said digging work had compromised the structures of some buildings, while the council’s use of concrete covers would aggravate the very flood situation it was trying to mitigate as concrete does not allow the absorption and evaporation of water.
“MPPP has not understood the structural make-up of the heritage drainage system.
“If the state authorities had consulted the NGOs and stakeholders, we would have advised them and the situation could have been averted.”
It was love for the state that had prompted the newly-established Penang Citizens’ Awareness Chant to speak out, said member Prof Dr Jimmy Lim.
“As Penang people, we only want what is best for the state and the people it is better for us to speak out now before it is too late. Lim suggested that the authorities carry out public surveys before proceeding with projects.
