I’m more worry about radioactive radiation leakage from the Bangi nuclear reactor, which is located right in the Klang Valley and less than 10 Km from my residence.

I knew the existence of Bangi nuclear reactor since late 80s because I got to know a nuclear scientist working in the facility who attended a same accounting evening course with me.

Frankly speaking, no one knows how safe is safe for Bangi nuclear reactor since there are no monitoring systems installed in Klang Valley for public preview.

It’s safer to live in Kuantan than in Klang Valley!

Real-time radiation readings

KUANTAN: Residents here can find out realtime readings of the radiation level by checking the airborne monitoring system (AMS) placed at the district police station here. The RM1.4 million AMS was installed early this year to gauge the radiation level in the town area.

A Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd spokesman said another system was installed at the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) office at the compound of the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) in Gebeng last year.
