The cheaper way to force people move out is with fire

Singapore government is (was) believed using fire tactic to move out people from old buildings without paying huge compensation. The voltage surge is applied in the targetted zone and their firemen always reached the fire zone in very short time.

You should notice also that fire is a norm in Sabah illegal water villages recently. I strongly suspect similar tactic is used by Malaysian government to destroy water villages.

Fire destroys two rows of squatter houses in Kampung Baru

Two rows of squatter houses along Jalan Raja Alang, Kampung Baru here were burnt to the ground in a dawn blaze Monday, leaving 96 people displaced.

City Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Azizan Ismail said authorities were alerted of the fire at about 4.30am.

“Forty-one fire-fighters arrived at the site within 10 minutes to tackle the blaze.

“The team managed to quell the flames at approximately 5.20am,” he added.

Azizan said none of the displaced residents were injured in the fire.

City Hall and Tenaga Nasional Berhad personnel were also at the scene.
