Tun Hanif should not be invited by Selangor sultan for his involvement in a gambling casino. He set a bad example for all Malaysian Muslims.

Hanif: Malay feelings hurt over discussion of taboo issues

PETALING JAYA (Dec 11, 2013): Former Inspector General of Police Tun Hanif Omar has decried the manner issues that were taboo in the past are now discussed with the feelings of Malays being hurt in the process.

He said special rights of bumiputras are being questioned, the position of sultans is being touched on and the sanctity of Islam as the religion of the federation is being raised.

Speaking at a tea party for government retirees on Saturday held in conjunction with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Shaharuddin Idris Shah’s 68th birthday, he said the perceived lack of credibility in the traditional media had given rise to alternative media which he alleged had spread falsehoods.

The text of his speech was released by the state government today.
