PETALING JAYA: Hard Rock International clarified that the company has no intention to open any new outlets in Malaysia nor issued any statements to that effect, apart from those already announced.

In a statement issued Monday, the company said it has “strict operating procedures to identify and survey a market prior to opening any new outlets, taking into account local culture and market demands.”

It added that the announcement of any new outlets will come directly from Hard Rock International, and not third parties.

Last Saturday, Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat reportedly said that the newest Hard Rock Café would be opened in three or four months’ time at Menara Ikhlas in Precinct 3, Putrajaya.

The news sparked an uproar. Aseh later clarified that no official application has been received regarding the opening of a Hard Rock Café there.

He added that Putrajaya Corporation has a clear policy against the sale of alcohol and unsuitable entertainment in the federal administrative capital.
