IPOH: DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang Wednesday (8 April) regarded the Pakatan Rakyat’s success in retaining the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat, and also that of the Bukit Selambau state seat, in yesterday’s by-elections as a second political tsunami to occur within 13 months.

The results indicated that the people rejected the appointment of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as the sixth prime minister and Datuk Dr Zambry Abd Kadir as Perak Menteri Besar, he added.

He said the increase in majority votes obtained by PR candidates in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau also reflected that the outcome of the March 8 general election, which favoured the PR in both constituencies, was not a coincidence.
