“Borneonisation” Programme Will Be Implemented At Right Time

KOTA KINABALU, Jan 10 (Bernama) — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Bernard Dompok is confident that the ‘Borneonisation’ programme to appoint locals to fill up key posts in federal departments and agencies in the state can be implemented at a suitable time.

He said the process of identifying qualified and capable local officers for this programme was being carried out.

However, Dompok said there was no time limit stipulated to achieve the target because a hasty decision could have an adverse effect on the services of the federal departments and agencies in the state.

“(But) when we are ready to take over the key posts in the federal departments and agencies in Sabah, then there is no reason why the Borneonisation programme cannot be implemented.

This fact clearly says that no just non-bumis are discriminated in the public service, our non-Muslim bumis from East Malaysia are also suffering from UMNO “ketuanan Melayu” NEP policy.
